My first time at the Bloedel Conservatory in Queen Elizabeth Park. Like some other venues in Vancouver, it's possibly facing the ax due to funding cuts, which is no surprise since it doesn't involve sports, shopping, or condos (hey, at least we have that Olympic speed skating oval...). I'm not a huge fan of cramped tourist traps, nor of captive birds (there were some beauties I couldn't adequately capture in a photo), but as a warm and steamy little oasis with a great panoramic view outside, it was a pleasant spot. (Bring a cloth to wipe the fog off your camera lens.)

We used to take sosi there all the time. Is that crazy bird Charlie still there?? Oh, now you have me all homesick for Vancouver...
