While at a wedding last week on the Sunshine Coast, I stayed at A Warehouse Hideaway in Gibsons. A former 1940s wood stove plant, which also did time as a storage facility for The Beachcombers TV sets, it's now been renovated to the nines by artist Mary Jean Brown, who studied at Parsons in New York City, was an interior designer, then moved to Vancouver and then Gibsons. There are only two loft suites at the far end. Mary Jean's very cool home studio takes up the other side. It's uber-clean, cosy, secluded, a little funky, and within walking distance of main street (where we had our complimentary breakfast). Recommended!
