Adventures in New Westminster

Here's a great example of beautiful clapboard being revealed in a stucco-removal job.
Even the pillars were coated! In the 70s, stucco was often used as insulation.
The “stucco-ization” of older wood frame houses was encouraged by the government. Federal government grants were available to homeowners through the 1970s to encourage its use. John Atkin explained that the application of exterior stucco was also seen as a way to “quickly modernize the house and hide the signs of renovations..."

A wonderfully quaint and unique abandoned house. Please don't tear it down!

I would have added "Hair Solutions" under it though.
