I made a cake...

The recipe name "best birthday cake" – plus the photo, plus the many positive comments on the food blog – sucked me in. I didn't even know what a yellow cake was, but I wanted to make a traditional birthday cake, complete with life-shortening ingredients. It turned out well, and the sour cream icing was interesting. But the best might be pushing it. Still, edible confetti! Layers! (Note, I left corn syrup out of the icing – no extra sweeting is needed.)
