Birthday cake time!

I used this recipe for a spiced hot chocolate cake but erred on the side of caution and reduced the cayenne in the batter by half. Still had a slight touch of heat, but I think the full teaspoon would have been ok too. Turned out moist and delicious. As you can see, I am an icing minimalist. (In spite of appearances, my layers were evenly distributed. It's just that my floor is slanted hence so are the layers. Need to level my oven!).
