Golden Ears Park – East Canyon Trail

We did part of the Canyon Loop. Passed the East/West connector bridge and continued on the East Canyon Trail until it got rough and boggy near the creek. Went back, and returned by the Lower Falls trail which passes Gold Creek Falls and is therefor more busy with tourists. The section going directly down to the falls was somewhat treacherous. We got there early and had the first part of our walk almost entirely to ourselves. Parking lot was overflowing when we returned. Total time of 3 hrs 57 mins. Mostly groomed trail over old logging road, until you get well past the bridge where it turns into an ungroomed trail with mud and creeks near the water.
